Kindergarten - Exploring Art through STEAM
Kindergartners at West Park explore the world of coding and sequence programing through unplugged activities with Hour-of-Code. They also design mazes, tracks and art with Hexabugs. These mini robots with insect-like crawling motion will randomly switch direction, bounce off objects, and explore little nooks and crannies- just like real bugs!
Young children in kindergarten are just beginning on their road to discovering the world. STEAM education is a way to take the benefits of STEM and complete the package by integrating these principles in and through the arts. Emphasizing the "A" takes those ideas in STEM to the next level. Our youngest students at West Park will get to connect their learning using various arts practices, elements, design principles. |
